Personal Stress Reduction Final Reflection
SUMMER II 2021
DUE August 6, 2021
“Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are.”
Ancient Chinese Proverb
YOUR FINAL SCORES: 20 points
That the birds fly overhead, this you cannot stop. Retake the Holmes and Rahe Stress Inventory from the American Institute of Stress https://www.stress.org/holmes-rahe-stress-inventory (Links to an external site.) OR the College Student’s Stress Events Check List. Be sure to take the same assessment as you did in Assignment #1.
Report your final score along with the score’s interpretation. Compare your first score from Assignment #1 with this current score. Reflect on what plans you have to continue to take care of your health during a time of a high score. You do not have to turn in the assessment, just your score and interpretation.
That the birds make a nest in your hair, this you can prevent. Take the Perceived Stress Survey at this link http://das.nh.gov/wellness/Docs%5CPercieved%20Stress%20Scale.pdf (Links to an external site.)
Report your final score and interpretation. Compare your score to the first one that you took on Assignment #1. The calculation for the score is on the second page. Note that some of the questions are reversed-scored.
FINAL REFLECTION AND PLAN: 30 points
Summarize the meaningful highlights from what you have learned from each assignment, readings, discussion and especially your personal experience with your ‘practices’ from the weekly reflections. Which of the relaxation practices worked best for you—or didn’t work for you. How has your perception of your stressors changed during the class? Did listing Three Good Things weekly affect your outlook during this semester? What will you continue to do? Prepare a typed 1 1/2 page (about 600 words) summary of this experience and your plan for managing your stressors.
